William Cheshire died from wounds on 27th October, 1914, after having been brought back to the United Kingdom but as yet, there is no information, as to when and where he was wounded. The 2nd Oxford & Bucks Light Infantry battalion were part of 5 Brigade, 2nd Division that had arrived in France at the beginning of the war in August, 1914 and had been involved in much of the early fighting. |
